Overview
ESD antistatic foams are a line of highly resilient, open cell foams designed to cushion and protect fragile electronic equipment from shock as well damage due to static discharge. These foams are treated with a special additive to prevent accumulation of destructive electrostatic charges. These foams do not rely on humidity to buildup conductivity, thus they perform well in all environmental conditions. As a result of how these foams are manufactured, the antistatic shelf life is extended well behond that found in competitive products. Selected ESD products meet MIL specification P26514 Rev. F requirements. The surface resistivity of these foams is 3x10¹¹ ohm/sq. ESD is teh choice for applications that require a foam solution that provides true ESD protection, such as for packaging of electronic components.
Primary Usage
The primary usage for ESD foams is for packaging of equipment or components, such as semiconductors, where protection from ESD is essential..
