AUTOMOTIVE: INNOVATION MEANS A QUIETER RIDE
Qylite® Acoustic Foam Technology for Automotive Insulation and Sound Attenuation
Now more than ever, automakers are striving to produce quieter vehicles to enhance the overall driving experience for the operator and passengers. Vibration tuning, barrier technology and sound attenuation are just a few of the techniques used to isolate the passenger compartment from road and vehicle noise. Sound attenuation is usually achieved through the use of foam or fiber materials for automotive insulation designed specifically to convert incident sound energy into another form. Dense barrier materials can be used in conjunction with absorbers and de-couplers to maximize automotive insulation performance by creating a double-wall design.
For our base of automotive customers, using proprietary technology, FXI has developed a family of highly economical polyurethane foam acoustic materials to function in automotive applications. Qylite® automotive insulations not only offer excellent sound attenuation and absorbtion performance compared to other materials, but also are lightweight and recyclable. A distinct advantage of acoustic foam over fibrous technologies is that Qylite® foams are dimensionally stable over time. This allows the designer to be confident that acoustic performance will not erode due to continued stress or vibration.
Acoustical foam is also being introduced to very diverse industries. Whether your current needs are for automotive, schools, colleges, offices, churches, cinemas, restaurants or even duct work, plenums, ceilings, machinery, aircraft and trains, FXI can help meet your needs.
Notice: This information is presented in good faith and is believed to be accurate. All data regarding these automotive insulation products were obtained using specific test methods (ASTM D-3574 unless otherwise indicated) under controlled laboratory conditions, and are intended to measure sound attenuation performance only against these specified test procedures.
