Wheelchair Cushions

Wheelchair cushions are customizable to meet the needs and comfort expectations of patients. These foam cushions can be modified to enhance pressure management and positioning based on patient needs through customizable designs based on support, number of foam layers, and optional gel additives. Foam cushions can feature contoured bases with multiple layers of foam to enhance pressure management and ideal body positioning while seated for extended periods of time.

The creation of these contoured bases pairs FXI's patented SMT™ (Surface Mount Technology) process with open cell visco foam, allowing for increased airflow and targeted support to key pressure points through surface designs. These cushions serve as a primary tool in maintaining the health of your skin by providing postural stability and deep immersion of the body into the enveloping visco foam.

To provide increased postural support along with heat dissipation through higher airflow, gel can be added to the foam or within the SMT™ design. This increased air circulation provides an improved microclimate for the skin. Additionally, the contoured surface of the cushion can be modified to achieve desired postural positioning based on the patient's needs; more specifically, FXI can create adjustable leg contour to compliment wheelchair cushions. For additional durability, wheelchair cushions are topped with moisture impermeable covers to protect the foam layers from bodily fluids and other contaminates.

Covers can also be customized to include stretch material. Wheelchair Cushions are able to be customized for use across a breadth of medical markets including Acute Care, Long Term Care, Homecare, Institutional Bedding, Assisted Living, and Independent Living environments.

These wheelchair cushions are manufactured in an ISO 13485 certified facility.
